We started showing the Maine-Anjou breed when our daughter was in school
in FFA due to their excellent disposition. We started with heifers and later incorporated steers into the mix. After she graduated,
we decided to continue raise and produce cattle as a hobby, which soon turned into a full time job for Doris. Within
a few years of selective breeding and genetic improvements, we began producing quality and competitive calves. Though
we are a small breeder, we will remain that way allowing us to give all our calves the nutrition, handling, and training they
need as the progress from their first days till they leave our ranch. We
manage a small herd which keeps us from neglecting other calves and span our birthing to cover a variety of show dates throughout
the year. Due to being a small breeder, we are limited on our calves throughout the year which will range from 5 to 15
per year that we will have available for outside sell at the moment and will soon be breeding 8 new female this year to add
to the herd. We are predominately a Maine-Anjou breeder, but also have some cross bred calves by other outstanding AI
sires.
BG's second crop of calves sold as expected delivering the same big
top and bone as expected. We are looking forward to our next set of calves, which will be hitting the ground beginning in
June. Please stay in touch and check them out as they begin arriving.
